The 11th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition seeks innovative students from around the world to reinvent a future based on deep technology

SINGAPORE, October 20, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Singapore Management University (EMS) The Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) today announced the opening of applications for its flagship event, the 11th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition (LKYGBPC).

The competition, themed Innovations Without Borders – Reimagining a Smart, Sustainable and Resilient Future, aims to bring together the brightest talents and entrepreneurial minds from universities around the world to come up with ideas and solutions that will meet modern challenges. to reinvent the future.

The largest of its kind in the region, LKYGBPC focuses on high-tech solutions of various sectors, including human health and potential, manufacturing, trade and connectivity, media and entertainment, smart nation and l digital economy, urban solutions and sustainability, among others.

Entrants can choose from two categories – 0 to 1that focuses on pre-revenue teams with disruptive technology or innovations, or 1 to infinity, which focuses on revenue-generating start-ups, up to Series A funding stages.

Commenting on this edition of LKYGBPC, Hau Koh FooDirector of SMU IIE said: “This competition aspires to provide a platform for Singapore collaborating with next generation technopreneurs to address these challenges and facilitate the adoption of these solutions so that Singapore and Asia can become a source of inspiration for digital, sustainable and urban living.”

In June 202350 Breakthrough Finalist Teams (RVLT50) will be chosen, where two members per team will be eligible for sponsored travel (airfare and accommodation) to Singapore to attend BLAZE, LKYGBPC Finals Week from September 11-15, 2023. They will participate in activities emphasizing innovation, knowledge, mentoring and networking.

BLAZE will also feature the Grand Finalist teams presenting live pitches to a panel of judges for the top prize in the Beta and Infinity categories. The winning teams will be announced on September 15, 2023.

The 10th edition of LKYGBPC in 2021 attracted more than 850 applications from 650 universities in 60 countries and regions. Leading university teams Asia, Europeand UNITED STATES participated in the RVLT50.

The call for applications will close on March 31, 2023.
