Sealord chooses Infor SaaS business software

New Zealand seafood company Sealord chose Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage and Infor Supply Chain Planning, seeking to improve productivity, improve forecasting and better measure sustainability.

Sealord is also looking to incorporate a more robust and modernized asset management system to cover procurement and commissioning, asset maintenance and management, as well as land and sea user tracking.

Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage (F&B) will also help Sealord establish specific carbon metrics and other sustainability metrics such as monitoring sea temperature and plastics usage, then report and manage progress towards its sustainability goals.

“Infor has integrated industry-specific features that are purpose-built into Infor CloudSuite F&B that align with Sealord’s business processes and operations. The result is a perfectly tailored, out-of-the-box solution. In the end As a matter of fact, we were looking for a long-term strategic solution partner to work with, not only do we appreciate Infor’s decades of development that have resulted in strong food manufacturing capability, but we also appreciate that Infor and Sealord share visions similar for people and culture,” said Sealord CIO Matthew Dodd.

The initial agreement for CloudSuite F&B and Infor Supply Chain Planning runs for seven years.

“We had to deal with increasing business and security risks associated with our legacy systems. Infor will allow us to redesign our core financial systems based on current and anticipated business requirements. With Infor, we will be able to more easily automate workflows, month-end processes, and provide standardized reporting to increase productivity across the business,” added Dodd.

The Infor software will allow Sealord to add key indicators, statistical data and other non-financial information relating to areas such as sustainability, market share, number of employees, customer sentiment, trends market and health and safety data.

The Infor software will be used across the entire Sealord business, including fishing, aquaculture and land-based plant processing operations in New Zealand and Australia, as well as global sales operations.

It will provide full multi-currency financial consolidation within the ERP system, allowing Sealord to retire the costly, stand-alone consolidation software it used.

“Standardizing on a single procurement system will create efficient processes and reduce costs. It will also improve speed and accuracy, as well as visibility into planning and forecasting. With Infor’s ERP solution, Sealord will gain a valuable time through the use of modern workflow, automation and AI tools,” Dodd said.

“Infor is thrilled to be Sealord’s strategic partner, helping to streamline its business and realize new efficiencies through the innovative, industry-specific features offered by Infor CloudSuite,” said Jarrod Kinchington, vice- Chairman and CEO of Infor ANZ.

“We have established a very good relationship with the company despite the pandemic-related disruptions. We look forward to helping Sealord achieve their strategic goals, so they can focus on their core business while our platform provides the data and transparent tracking they need.

The hybrid cloud promises to bring together the best of both worlds, allowing businesses to combine the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the cloud with the performance and control you can get from your on-premises infrastructure.

Reducing WAN latency is one of the biggest hybrid cloud performance issues. Leveraging data compression and deduplication can reduce your network latency.

Markets and Markets research firm predicted that the size of the hybrid cloud market is expected to grow from US$38.27 billion in 2017 to US$97.64 billion by 2023.

Colocation facilities offer many benefits of having your servers in the cloud while maintaining physical control of your systems.

The cloud adjacency provided by colocation facilities can allow you to take advantage of their high-bandwidth, low-latency connections to the cloud, as well as provide a solid connection to your on-premises corporate network.
