The Castlebar Chamber of Commerce has launched its new website, chateaubarchamber.com Last week. The launch has been described as a milestone in the city’s development and progression.
Bernard Hughes, chairman of the chamber, said the new site is a positive spinoff from Castlebar who won the Rising Star category at the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town Awards 2019.
He said: “The message we want to send is that this is a website that has been built for the whole city, the business community, in general, and the various support groups, clubs and organizations. that make up Castlebar.
“We know that as a strong commercial city we have a lot of advantages and we want this site to help us take those advantages and make it even better. The slogan we have chosen is “Welcome to Castlebar. A place to prosper ”.
“In order to work towards this goal, it is essential that local businesses, community groups, sports and local organizations work a little more closely. This platform can bring us together and showcase Castlebar and the vision we all share.
“The big picture is that this will help fuel the city in Western development plans that influence the direction of national development.”
Mr Hughes said he was confident the website would succeed in promoting Castlebar as a place to visit, shop, work and live.
He thanked committee members John Mulroy, Anne Conlon, Caroline Gordon, Gerard Kelly, Wilson Bird, Anne King, Kenny O’Brien, John Caulfield, Ronan Byrne and Michael Gill for their help in rolling out the project.
Working from the city chamber office, Ronan Byrne will provide support, administrative assistance and support to all members. Ronan has extensive IT experience through his work in banking and customer support environments.
Mr. Hughes also singled out site designer David Quinn, saying: “When we applied for the web designer position, it was essential to employ a local web designer.
“We are fortunate to have in our city a high caliber and experienced web designer in David Quinn and his company Avenir Design. They did a great job and I thank local photographer John Mee for providing the images that appear on the site. “
MP Alan Dillon and Councilor Martin McLoughlin, Cathaoirleach, Castlebar Municipal District also addressed the launch at Bridge St in the town and they both spoke glowingly about “Castlebar’s future with many new investments. imminent ”.
